What we cover
We do not provide emergency ambulance transport, stretcher conveyance, or journeys that require clinical care or monitoring in transit. Our crews are trained in passenger handling, not clinical intervention. If a booking falls outside what we can safely carry, we will say so at the point of booking rather than accepting it and failing on the day.

Safety and handling

For commissioners
Tendering or setting up a framework call-off? We can provide insurance certificates, DBS policy, training records, vehicle documentation and safeguarding procedures as part of a submission. Email info@ufirstservices.co.uk with your deadline and we will work to it.
Questions from wards and transport teams
No, and this is an important distinction. We provide non-emergency patient transport only. Our crews are trained in passenger handling, safe wheelchair securing and basic patient assistance, but they are not paramedics and our vehicles do not carry clinical equipment or blue lights. Anyone whose condition requires clinical care or monitoring in transit needs an ambulance service, not us.
Our fleet is configured for seated and wheelchair conveyance rather than stretcher transport. If a patient must travel lying flat we will tell you at the booking stage so the ward can arrange an appropriate provider without losing time.
It depends entirely on what is already committed that day, which is why we would rather you call than assume. We hold some same-day capacity deliberately, because discharge planning rarely gives 48 hours' notice. Call the office and we will give you a straight answer about what is available.
Yes, where the precautions are compatible with non-clinical transport. Tell us the requirement when you book so the crew is briefed, appropriate PPE is carried, and the vehicle is cleaned to the required standard between journeys. We would rather plan for it than be told at the ward door.
Yes. Escort seats are included at no additional charge, and we allocate a vehicle with the right seat count when you tell us how many people are travelling. For higher-dependency patients we can also provide an additional passenger assistant alongside the driver.
On account, against agreed terms. Purchase order or cost centre references are carried through to every invoice line, journeys can be consolidated monthly, and journey-level records are available so finance and contract teams can reconcile without a back-and-forth.
The crew waits within a reasonable window and stays in contact with the office and the ward. Long delays affect other patients booked behind you, so we will always talk to you rather than simply leaving, and any waiting time is recorded transparently on the journey record.

Call the office and describe the journey. We will tell you honestly whether we can cover it, and if we cannot, we will say so straight away.
