Who we are

Companion driving & support
At Ufirst, our services go beyond simply getting people from Point A to B. We are dedicated to helping our clients maintain their independence, stay connected with their communities, and continue enjoying the things that matter most.
Supporting people from all walks of life, our companion driving and support service makes everyday journeys easier and more enjoyable. Whether it is attending important medical appointments, running essential errands, visiting family and friends, or enjoying long-awaited social occasions, we are here every step of the way.
We’re family when family can’t be there.
If you or a loved one needs a little extra support with day-to-day activities, our compassionate, door-through-door service provides reassurance, companionship and peace of mind — helping people live life with confidence while remaining as independent as possible.

Available nationwide. Local journeys across London and the South East as standard, with longer trips further afield arranged and quoted individually.
What we do
Two ways to work with us
No account, no contract and no jargon. Tell us where you need to be and what help the passenger needs, and we will quote a fixed fare before you commit to anything.

Commissioners need more than a vehicle turning up. We run the administrative side to match: purchase order references carried through, journey-level records, consolidated billing and a named contact who answers the phone.

How booking works

Same-day and urgent journeys. Hospital discharges rarely give notice. Call 020 8058 9879 and we will tell you honestly what we can cover today rather than taking a booking we cannot deliver.
The fleet

Single wheelchair plus up to four seated passengers.

Powered lifts for heavier powered chairs and scooters.

Group runs with several wheelchair spaces on flexible tracking.
Where we go
Longer-distance transfers, hospital repatriations and out-of-area placements are quoted individually and covered nationwide.

What people tell us
Discharge planning lives or dies on transport turning up. The Ufirst crews arrive when the booking says they will, they ring the ward before they set off, and they never rush a patient into the vehicle. That reliability has taken real pressure off our afternoon lounge.
We moved three SEND routes across to Ufirst mid-year, which is never straightforward. Because the same driver and passenger assistant cover the run every day, the children settled within a fortnight. Parents tell us the difference, and so do the schools.
My mother uses a powered wheelchair and had stopped going out because getting her into a car had become a battle. Now she rolls straight up the ramp, gets strapped in properly and we go. She has been to two family weddings this year.
Common questions
No. Our ramp and tail-lift vehicles are built so you board and travel seated in your own wheelchair. The chair is secured with four-point tie-downs and you wear a separate occupant belt, so nothing depends on the chair's own brakes.
For a single journey, 48 hours gives us the best chance of matching the right vehicle and crew. We hold same-day capacity for hospital discharges and urgent appointments, so it is always worth calling us on the day rather than assuming we are full.
Yes, and there is no extra charge for escort or carer seats. Tell us how many people are travelling when you book so we allocate a vehicle with enough seats alongside the wheelchair space.
We do. Account customers are invoiced on agreed terms with purchase order references carried through to every line, and we can consolidate journeys monthly or termly. Recurring contracted routes can also be collected by Direct Debit.
No obligation, no account needed. We will confirm the vehicle, the crew and the fare in writing before anything is booked.
