What we take people to
Some patients qualify for NHS-funded non-emergency patient transport on medical grounds, which would be free to you. Eligibility is assessed by the NHS, not by us, and it is worth asking the department arranging your appointment before you pay for a private journey. We would rather point you there and lose the fare than have you pay for something you were entitled to.
If you do not qualify, or you need transport the NHS service cannot cover, that is exactly what this service is for.
Three ways to book it
We take you there and the booking ends. Suitable when someone else is bringing you home, or when the appointment has no predictable finish time.
The vehicle and driver stay with you for the appointment. Best for anything under about ninety minutes - bloods, dressings, a short consultation, a dental appointment.
We drop you off, release the vehicle, and come back at an agreed time. Right for dialysis, day-case procedures and anything running several hours.
Not sure which suits your appointment? Tell us what it is for and roughly how long it usually takes, and we will recommend one. Call 020 8058 9879.

Before you call
Questions
Yes. This service is for people booking directly - you, a family member, or a care home on your behalf. You do not need an NHS referral, an eligibility assessment or an account with us. If you do qualify for NHS-funded patient transport it is worth checking that first, because it may be free to you, and we would rather tell you that than take a fare you did not need to pay.
It depends on distance, the vehicle your mobility requirement needs, and whether the driver waits. We quote a fixed fare before you commit to anything, and that fare is what you pay - there is no meter running while you board and no surcharge for the ramp or the assistance.
Ring us. Appointments overrun constantly and it is not a problem, it is a scheduling question. If your driver is waiting, they wait. If we released the vehicle and are coming back, we re-time the collection. What we ask is that you call rather than sitting in a waiting room hoping - we cannot re-plan around a delay we do not know about.
The driver will take you door through door - to the reception desk, the clinic entrance or the ward door, whichever makes sense. What they will not do is act as a chaperone through the appointment itself or take clinical responsibility for you. If you need someone with you throughout, bring an escort; there is no charge for their seat.
Yes, and it is much the better way to do it. Tell us the days, the times and the unit, and we set the whole pattern up once. You get the same collection time each session, usually the same driver, and one arrangement rather than a phone call every week. If a session moves, one call adjusts it.
Forty-eight hours gives us the best chance of matching the right vehicle, particularly for powered wheelchairs where the choice of vehicle is narrower. We do hold some short-notice capacity, so it is always worth calling on the day rather than assuming we are full.
Once your journey is confirmed and priced, we email a secure hosted payment link from our payment provider. Card details are never entered on this website, and we will never ask for them by phone or email. For recurring schedules we can set up Direct Debit instead so you are not paying journey by journey.
Of course, and most of our bookings are made this way. We just need a contact number for the person travelling as well as the person booking, so the driver can call ahead on the day. Care homes booking regularly can be set up on an account and invoiced monthly instead of paying per journey.
Tell us where you need to be and when. We will confirm the vehicle, the fare and whether the driver waits - all before you commit to anything.
